Incident investigation is a systematic approach to finding out how and why an incident has happened, and what steps should be taken to prevent recurrence
This one-day workshop gives you the information, tools and resources to further develop your skills for investigating, recording and reporting incidents, and taking continuous improvement action to prevent future workplace incidents.
This workshop includes:
- Understanding everyone’s legislative requirements for investigating and taking action following an incident
- Developing a proactive incident reporting system to flush out problems, learn from them, and eliminate potential harm
- Taking investigation action – prioritising incident levels, selecting an incident investigation model, identifying contributing factors and the root cause, and producing an investigation report
- Continually improving workplace health and safety by implementing preventative measures, monitoring effectiveness, and sharing lessons with all
Entry | Learners must be: – 16 years or older – an New Zealand or Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident |

Outcome | On successful completion of this workshop and its assessment, learners will be awarded unit standard 17601 – Produce an occupational health and safety incident investigation Level: 4 Credits: 6 |
