Continuous Improvement is the ongoing effort to improve workflow, processes, quality, work areas and health and safety.
BMINZ offer two Continuous Improvement programmes:
Operational Excellence – Certificate in Continuous Improvement (Level 3)
A seven-month programme to kick start learners on their Continuous Improvement journey. Concepts that form the foundation of all Continuous Improvement cultures are taught and applied in this practical programme.
Successful completion of this programme leads to the achievement of the New Zealand Certificate in Competitive Systems and Practices (CSP), Level 3, 40 credits
Operational Excellence – Certificate in Continuous Improvement (Level 4)
A 12-month programme for line leadership where learners are equipped with knowledge and skills to lead their teams to apply Continuous Improvement principles. This programme emphasises transfer of knowledge to line leaders and introduces concepts for managing change and influencing a cultural shift.
Successful completion of this programme leads to the achievement of the New Zealand Certificate in Competitive Systems and Practices (CSP), Level 4, 70 credits
Supplement your employee’s learning with a training scheme. BMINZ offer a Continuous Improvement Cycle Training Scheme, Level 4
This five-month training scheme advances the skills and experience of those already practicing Continuous Improvement activities in the workplace, and/or is an excellent precursor for those learners wishing to enroll into the Operational Excellence: Certificate in Continuous Improvement Level 4 programme.
BMINZ’s Continuous Improvement programmes include:
- Foundation knowledge: assessing cost and waste, organising work spaces (5S) and problem solving. Teams identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to improve aspects of their work areas (quality, health and safety, productivity and waste)
- Standardising and Sustaining Improvement: building on foundation learning to embed and sustain learning on the job
- Advance Opportunities for Improvement: advances teams in waste identification, workplace organisation, work flows and efficiencies, allowing teams to begin to direct their own Continuous Improvement processes
- Continuous Improvement Leadership: transfers the supervision and coaching of the embedded Continuous Improvement system to leaders and champions on site.
Through all modules teams complete work-based improvement projects.
